National Wormhole Day Blog Hop . . .

Today I'm taking part in the National Wormhole Day Blog Hop, hosted by Luanne Smith , Laura Eno and Stephen Tremp.

What would you do or where would you go if you could traverse a wormhole through space or time just once? One safe round trip passage. Would you go back in time and talk some sense into a younger you? Go five years into the future and bring back the Wall Street Journal? See just how the heck the Great Pyramids of Giza were really built? View what the other side of the universe looks like? Kill Hitler?

So, what would I do if I could travel through a wormhole and back again?  Hmmm...

I would jump in my wormhole and travel back billions and billions of years and then pay the Planet Mars a visit.  Why?  Well, for those who don't really follow the likes of Curiosity, astronomers have recently discovered gullies and valleys across the surface of Mars that looks like it was created by water.  Whether these were huge, deep lakes that carved their way across the land or whether they were just mere streams that, over the course of centuries, eroded deep fissures that snaked by, who knows.

But, if it was water, and as much as what they say it may have been, was it enough to sustain life?  If so, where is this life - and WHERE is this water?  Why is the planet so dry and barren now?  What happened to it?

Now that is something I'd like to know.

OR...

I could give Justine Beiber the key to my wormhole but forget to give him the return ticket (snigger snigger)...

Ahhh the possibilities are endless :)

  1. I like the idea of visiting Mars to see what there was to see if and when civilization occurred there. As for the Bebe, he's just a latter day Beatle boy.

  2. Loved your post, and I too have been following the current events about Mars! I have always felt that all of the different species on Earth came from other planets...weird, but true! Good Post!

    1. Someone once told me that Mars sent out spores and that life on earth started from one of these. Hmmm...interesting but unsure.

      Thanks for stopping by :)

  3. Of course, you could just ignore all the science and go the Burroughs route, Cartering your way to a Mars of your choosing. We, too, find ourselves skeptical that water would make for an early Mars with anything more interesting than ooze. (So, yes, maybe you should send Justin ahead to check it out first.)

    1. Noted. In the event of wormholes Justin goes first :)

  4. That is a fascinating question. What if there was an entire world there before, with trees and people and sea life. And then it all burned up from an over-heated atmosphere. Gah. Cool choice. :)

    1. Thanks. One theory was that Venus was the first to hold life. Then as the sun got bigger it burned up and we were next in line to hold the right conditions for life. That would mean Mars is next after us, but if life has already been on there, that blows that theory, doesn't it...lol

  5. No hatin' Justin Beiber! :)

I do love your idea of Mars. Hopefully if you do encounter lifeforms, they're of the friendly persuasion and will be happy to learn about you as well, but allow you to return home. Oh, the bad rap we give aliens - always expecting the worst.

    1. Too many stories of probing have given them that bad reputation. Lets hope they're not all interested in the same subject :)

And I don't hate Beiber. It's just his attitude of late seems to be all I hear about :)

  8. Ive heard a commentary that the water from Mars was used during the Flood of Noah. Something g to think about. Maybe a wormhole was used as the conduit. And thanks for participating.

    1. If aliens were involved in the evolution of ancient civilisation, maybe they also had the technology to transfer the waters for the flood. Hmmm...curious :)

  11. WHAT AN INTERESTING THOUGHT! I never knew that Mars had water on it. How cool!

  12. *hehehe* And what if life was on Mars first, but was then forced to move to Earth. . . And in a few hundred/thousand years, this will happen again???

    1. At least by using the wormhole we can see where we/Mars went wrong, and either do something to prevent it or make future plans to save ourselves (I feel a story idea forming :)

  13. Oh, what a terrific way to use that wormhole! And you, of course, will come back and the let the world learn from your adventure, right? Perfect! The part about Beiber is icing on the cake. (Might I suggest a few others to take along with you...?)

Count me in as your newest follower.

I can take the bieb as he comes, but his attitude towards UK just recently is all everyone seems to be going on about. Talk about a role model. Sheesh...

  17. Aww, but I love Justin Beiber's music (really, it makes me dance around). Something to consider, what if Mars was The Garden of Eden, and the great flood caused us to land..here?

    Something to consider :)

  18. You're the second one I've come across today who'd go to Mars -- together you could do excellent research.
